This is to say It has been my distinguished honor to be counted among such wonderful group of people. I have had the pleasure of working side by side with an amazingly selfless people. Even though I came at the tail end of this effort it has made me realize one should always reach for the moon and the stars. I can't think of any other group I've been prouder to belong. Many of you have been asking for updates on the Ethiopia Project and Ethiopian contacts in the US. A lot of very exciting things are happening that I wanted to fill you in on, along with information and web links to a new fundraising organization here in the US created to support the work of CHFE.

The work on the Pediatric Cardiac Center in Ethiopia is quickly coming to completion, pace is starting to pick up and our goal to help the first patient before year end appears in sight. By now you should have received CD and video packet I sent a few weeks ago, intended to help those of you interested in bringing this message to your communities.
Since the packet went out, a new organization called Children’s Fund of Ethiopia (www.CFEthiopia.org) was founded by US Ethiopian friends, relatives and supporters of Dr. Belay. I am working closely with them on ways to help each other out. Their goal is to raise $500,000 by October and already have $14,000 in pledges the first week!This organization seems well connected among US Ethiopians and I’m hoping they can provide all interested chapters with local contacts.
I would also invite and encourage all those with questions or interested in linking directly with the Children's Fund of Ethiopia (CFE US, different from CHFE Ethiopia) to contact Mr. Tefera Kassa of the Minnesota Coordinating Committee, at 612-282-3201 or email at tefera@cfethiopia.org I am forwarding a copy of this message to Mr. Kassa to alert him of the possibility of HTC inquiries.
